Fiss, the village

..This is the 18th time that I’m in Fiss and I’m still amazed by its atmosphere. Although there’s been built a lot during the last years, there are not just hotels or multi-storey buildings. In fact, a lot of hotels and houses have been renovated. I’m very happy that there is still the typical Tyrolean atmosphere. Even though there is more tourism, it still remains to be my personal Tyrolean holiday location …

On the sun plateau in Fiss live about 1.000 people on 1.436 metres. The sea level is measured at the entrance of the church. Due to the 5.600 guest beds, het dorp is the second largest place on the alpine plateau and with the two nearby villages Serfaus and Ladis make up the sun plateau.

A lot of apartments and family-run hotels provide in collaboration with cable cars and ski schools a unique offer for families, groups and couples. There are also great après-ski bars, even though this is not the main focus in het dorp. The primary concern is a relaxing, high-quality winter holiday. 2.000 hours of annual sunshine contribute to the well-being during a stay in Fiss.
